David Ornstein has named the THREE players Manchester United must sell to free up funds for two new signings in January.

Erik ten Hag is thought to be in the market for new talent ahead of the transfer window reopening next month as they endure a difficult campaign.

Man United occupy seventh spot in the Premier League table and are no longer in the Champions League following their elimination earlier this month.

But Ten Hag will need to trim his squad before he can acquire new talent during the January transfer window.

According to Ornstein, the Red Devils are looking at another striker, having snapped up Rasmus Hojlund last summer.

A right-sided centre-back is also on the club's transfer wish-list.

Those potential transfers will be facilitated by exits. Ornstein claims Anthony Martial's departure from Old Trafford could lead to incomings.

The 28-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, having been strongly linked with a move away last summer.

A transfer, however, failed to materialise as he remained at the club. This season, the Frenchman has scored just two goals in 19 games in all competitions.

It's a similar situation for Raphael Varane, who has been linked with a stunning return to Real Madrid.

The veteran defender joined Man United from the La Liga giants and has played 14 games in all competitions this season after an injury-hit campaign.

Man United also need to find a resolution over Jadon Sancho, who has been banished from the first-team following his dispute with Ten Hag.

He's yet to make an appearance since his row with the Dutch boss as his future appears to lie away from Man United.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a sensational return to Borussia Dortmund. Not to mention La Liga outfit Barcelona and Serie A side Juventus, who are willing to pay a part of his salary.
