Jadon Sancho has explained why he changes his voice during interviews in Germany

Jadon Sancho is heading back to Borussia Dortmund and it could mark the return of his bizarre accent changes.

Jadon Sancho has explained why he changes his accent when doing interviews in Germany.

Having been exiled by Erik ten Hag at Manchester United since September, the England international is set to return to Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Sancho's refusal to apologise for comments made about Ten Hag led to him being ostracised from the first-team.

Sancho has been heavily linked with a move away ever since and it's since been decided the best solution is to head back to Dortmund on a temporary basis.

There is no obligation to buy in the deal but Sancho will be hoping to get his career back on track in an environment he knows well.

He set the Bundesliga alight after leaving Manchester City in 2017, scoring 50 times and assisting a further 64 in 137 games.

But one has to be wonder whether Sancho will still be going interviews in the same manner when his return to Dortmund is confirmed.

During his first spell, the 23-year-old started speaking with a German accent but in English when speaking with the local media.

It happened on a number of occasions, including a joint interview with Erling Haaland.

The twang led to comparisons to Steve McClaren and Joey Barton, who spoke English but with Dutch and French accents in their respective European adventures.

South Londoner Sancho was forced to address why he put on the voice during the Euro 2020 tournament.

He claimed he did it so that people could "understand" him better

"It's the language barrier, for people who don't really understand English," he told BBC Radio 5 Live's Daily Euros podcast.

"The only reason I do it is for them to understand. You know when you go to Spain and talk to a waiter at a restaurant?"

United are set to pay a third of the player's £290,000-a-week contract and will therefore be contributing around £100,000-a-week.
