Jadon Sancho's latest comments about Cristiano Ronaldo are guaranteed to surprise Erik ten Hag

Jadon Sancho's latest comments about Cristiano Ronaldo are guaranteed to surprise Erik ten Hag

Jadon Sancho has been speaking about former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who also had a publicised fall-out with Erik ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho's comments about Cristiano Ronaldo will make for interesting reading for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Sancho has returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan after being ostracised by Erik ten Hag at United.

The England international was banned from the first-team environment after refuting claims from the Dutchman that he did not train at the required level prior to the defeat to Arsenal in September.

Sancho has looked much happier back "home" at Dortmund, where he's played twice and provided an assist on his debut.

The 23-year-old sat down for a new interview with Dortmund's official YouTube channel and discussed a number of topics.

As well as revealing Marco Reus was trying to tap him up in the summer, Sancho talked about playing alongside Ronaldo at United.

Both signed for the Red Devils in the same window, with Ronaldo sealing a dream return to United more than a decade after leaving for Real Madrid in 2009.

And the former Watford and Manchester City academy spoke highly of working with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner and learning from him on a daily basis.

Asked about Ronaldo, he told Dortmund's YouTube channel: "A great professional. He's obviously one of my role models growing up.

"I just love his mentality and I think for every young player who was there at the time he was there, definitely learned that to be at the top, you have to train like you're playing every day.

"Even in the gym, even the recoveries. Sleep is important. Seeing him and playing with him, it was a dream come true because watching YouTube clips of him it's definitely inspirational.

"I'm thankful for him and everything he's taught me."

Ronaldo also didn't have the best relationship with Ten Hag and ultimately had his contract terminated by mutual consent following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan where he criticised the manager and club.

Ronaldo will be 39 next month but continues to possess an innate work ethic and a knack of scoring goals.

He has 30 in all competitions for Al Nassr this season.
