First Man Utd figure comments on Jadon Sancho's social media post after completing Dortmund move

Jadon Sancho completed his loan move to Borussia Dortmund on Thursday afternoon

A member of Manchester United staff has commented on Jadon Sancho’s social media post on the back of his loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

During the summer transfer window of 2021, the Old Trafford club spent a reported £73 million to lure Sancho away from German club Dortmund.

However, the winger failed to reproduce the kind of form that he showed during his time in the Bundesliga and soon fell down the pecking order at United.

This season, Sancho had a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag, which led to the 23-year-old being exiled from the first team fold.

On Thursday afternoon, it was confirmed that Sancho had completed a loan move back to his former club Dortmund for the remainder of the 23/24 season.

After completing his move back to Germany, Sancho took to social media to post a picture of him in his Dortmund shirt.

The caption read: “2024, let’s go! @bvb09”

In the comments section, the likes of Jude Bellingham, Jesse Lingard, Vinicius Junior and Marco Reus all commented.

Fans also spotted a comment from one of United’s coaching staff, Benni McCarthy, who simply put a love heart and crown emoji.

Speaking after his transfer, Sancho said: “It's so nice to be back. Dortmund is like a home to me. This is where my career as a professional footballer started. That was always my dream. I'm happy to be back here again.

“I want to get started! I think my team-mates will make it easy for me to get started here. I still know some of the players. And they'll feel just like me. They really want to get going too.”

When asked why he chose the number 10 shirt, he said: “An iconic number. As a child, the 10 was always my favourite number. In part because of Ronaldinho. I always watched his clips on YouTube. When BVB told me that the No. 10 was free, I didn't think twice. I just said: 'Yes, please reserve the 10 for me. That'd be perfect’.”
