Jadon Sancho aims another dig at Erik ten Hag over Man Utd treatment in latest social media post

Jadon Sancho aims another dig at Erik ten Hag over Man Utd treatment in latest social media post

Sancho sealed a return to Dortmund on Thursday.

Jadon Sancho appears to have aimed another dig at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after completing his season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old will spend the rest of this season with the Bundesliga giants, who he left for United in a £72 million deal in 2021, following a public falling out with Ten Hag.

Sancho was left out of the matchday squad for September's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal after Ten Hag criticised his effort levels in training.

Following the Dutch coach's post-match press conference, Sancho claimed he'd been made a scapegoat in a now-deleted statement on X.

After refusing to apologise publicly or privately, the England international was banished from first-team training and banned from using first-team facilities at the club's Carrington training complex.

Sancho never fully settled at Old Trafford and scored 12 goals in 82 games.

It's a massive contrast to his form at Dortmund, which made him one of the world's top prospects. He scored 50 goals and registered 64 assists in 137 games, helping the German outfit to DFB-Pokal glory in 2021.

Since the confirmation of his return to Signal Iduna Park, Sancho has been active on social media. He appeared to take a shot at Ten Hag on Friday morning with a picture of himself in training.

Sancho captioned the photo: "Good to be back on the pitch."

Dortmund hope Sancho can help them qualify for next season's Champions League.

Edin Terzic's side are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, six points behind RB Leipzig in fourth.

Sancho told the club's official website: "When I walked into the changing room today, it felt like coming home. I know the club inside out, I’ve always been very close to the fans here and I’ve never lost contact with the people in charge.

"I can’t wait to see my teammates again, get out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, get assists, score goals and help the club qualify for the Champions League."

Sancho is in contention to make his second debut when Dortmund return to action against Darmstadt on Saturday evening.

United aren't expected to replace Sancho, who hasn't played a game since coming off the bench in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in August.

FFP restrictions mean the Red Devils are limited regarding incomings this month.

They've been linked with a move for Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who is surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.
