Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has delivered a fresh update on Kobbie Mainoo's Manchester United future.
Mainoo, 20, has found it tough so far this season, having fallen down Ruben Amorim's pecking order.
The midfielder has only managed 228 minutes in eight appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, registering one assist.
Mainoo was not in the squad for United's 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur after picking up an injury during training.

Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt climbed the highest right at the death to rescue a point for United in North London.
Looking ahead, with the winter transfer window on the horizon, Mainoo continued to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
As reported by Italian news outlet Football Italia, Romano stated that there were contacts between Serie A side Napoli and Mainoo's representatives last week.
Aside from Napoli, it has been suggested that fellow Serie A side AS Roma are also keeping tabs on the situation.

Speaking on his Here We Go YouTube Podcast, Romano stated that Mainoo 'would still be open for a loan move in the January transfer window'.
However, the Italian also claimed that United will ultimately decide Mainoo's future.
He said: "It’s on United now; they need to decide what they want to do. Kobbie would like to go and play, straight loan, six months, and then back to Man United, but now it depends on the club.
"It depends on if Man United will find another player in the middle. It depends on what Ruben Amorim wants to do, because the desire for Amorim would be to keep the same squad."
Romano continued: "So let’s see what’s going to happen there. There is interest from England, West Ham, for example, for sure offering a guaranteed starting spot to Kobbie Mainoo.
"There is interest from Italy, also Napoli are looking for a midfielder after the injury of Kevin De Bruyne, and Kobbie Mainoo has always been on the shortlist. So for sure, Kobbie is going to be one to watch depending on what Man United want to do."
