Manchester United fans have been reacting on social media after watching the Red Devils in action against Grimsby Town.

On Wednesday night, Ruben Amorim's men travelled to Blundell Park to take on League Two outfit Grimsby in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils enter the competition at this stage for the first time in more than 10 years after their dismal 24/25 season.

As expected, United headed into the tie as massive favourites despite failing to win in their opening two Premier League matches.

However, Grimsby took a shock lead in the 22nd minute through Charles Vernam, who managed to squeeze a shot beyond Andre Onana at the near post.

With 30 minutes on the clock, Onana was in trouble again as he flapped at a corner and the ball went into the path of Tyrell Warren, who tapped into an empty net.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Onana is comfortably the worst United goalkeeper I’ve ever seen."

Another tweeted: "Look at Onana, man. If we don't sell this guy after this game, then we're not a serious institution."

A third fan added: "Onana is crap and will never make it at this club, but we’re crap for even finding out Onana is crap."

Someone else wrote: "Onana is done at United, sell him, get rid NOW. He is beyond finished."

A fifth commented: "Onana needs to get sold before the window shuts."

Another fan said: "Sack Amorim and send Onana home at half time."

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former England striker Chris Sutton said: "Incredible. Absolutely incredible The ball is whipped in from the left hand side and Onana was flapping and he misses it completely. He's got to get it and he doesn't.

"The easiest of finishes as it was fumbled over the line by Warren. Where do United go from here?"
