Alejandro Garnacho’s brother was not best pleased with Ruben Amorim and took to social media to issue his thoughts.
Garnacho, 20, was introduced in place of Mason Mount on 71 minutes during Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat against Spurs in the Europa League final on Wednesday (May 21).
Former Man Utd centre-back Rio Ferdinand admitted he was surprised by Amorim’s decision to leave Garnacho out of the starting XI.

“That’s one question mark I had with the selection today for Man United,” Ferdinand explained on TNT Sports.
“We didn’t have anybody running in behind, and Garnacho has done that all season when he has played.

“Whether you like him or not in terms of his finishing and end product, he does give you that threat which stretches teams and at no point in this game were Spurs stretched in that sense.”

Garnacho himself also gave his thoughts on his limited playing time following United’s defeat.
“Obviously, it’s hard for everyone,” said Garnacho. “Our season was s**t. We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more.
“Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today - I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”
As reported by The Guardian, United are open to selling the Madrid-born Argentina international and value him between £60-70m.

The 20-year-old, whose contract is set to run until June 2028, has registered 11 goals and ten assists in 58 appearances for the Red Devils this campaign, although has regularly featured as a substitute.
In a post on Instagram after United’s defeat, Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, aimed a dig at Amorim, he wrote: “Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from 2 goals last 2 finals, just to be on the pitch 19 mins and get thrown under the bus, wowe hajjahhahaha.”
The goals mentioned by Roberto are the United winger’s 2024 FA Cup final goal and his equaliser during the FA Community Shield last August.
In January, Garnacho was heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli, who are likely to be in the market for a winger to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
