Gary Neville has revealed his thoughts on Manchester City's 115 charges and it left Ian Wright at a complete loss for words.
We are now less than three weeks away the end of the Premier League season and both Arsenal and Manchester City remain in the title race.
City, who have a game in hand, are currently five points behind the Gunners, with games against Brentford (H), Palace (H), Bournemouth (A) and Aston Villa (H) to come.
Although fans have enjoyed City's performances throughout the season, it's fair to say there has been a cloud hanging over the club as the case relating to their 115 Premier League charges remains unresolved.
Advert
Back in February 2023, the Premier League accused City of breaching 115 financial regulations across a nine-year spell between 2009 and 2018.
City have, of course, fought these charges, but more than three years later, we are yet to learn the outcome of various hearings and meetings to decide the outcome of the charges.
Discussing it on The Overlap's Stick to Football, Neville said he thinks that there's a strong chance that City will be cleared of all wrongdoing.
"I think it's a shame on the game that this hasn't been resolved yet.
"It's a disgrace it's taken so long, it's absolutely shocking and in the meantime Everton, Forest and other clubs have been punished.
"They could get off every single charge. I know you've gone quiet there... they could."
Shocked by the claim, co-host Wright replied: "Really? If they get off every single charge are we all gonna go 'Oh God, can't believe that happened but let's get on with it.'
"It's not like five or six, it's 115!
Neville responded: "The very important principle in this country of innocent until proven guilty, my view would be that we haven't found the level of guilt yet, or any guilt yet."
Ian Wright slams Manchester City's spending
The conversation came from a discussion earlier in the episode in which Arsenal legend Wright criticised how City are still able to buy whatever players they want, pointing to signings of Marc Guehi and Antonine Semenyo in January, taking City's spend in a 12 months period to £445.9million on 15 players.
Wright added: "Arsenal can't construct their team how City have constructed their team and pay what they pay to get these players, for whatever reason.
"They've got carte blanche to do what they're doing and there's 115 charges, we can't say anything about it and it's still not resolved."
