Xabi Alonso's agent, Inaki Ibanez, has reportedly spoken out amid reports linking his client with a move to Liverpool.
During his playing career, Alonso played for Liverpool from 2004 to 2009, making 236 appearances and scoring 6 goals.
The Spaniard was part of the famous Reds squad who lifted the 2005 UEFA Champions League in Istanbul, scoring the equaliser against AC Milan to make it 3-3.
After retiring, Alonso moved into management and impressed during his first role at Real Sociedad B, which tempted Bayer Leverkusen to make a move for the former midfielder.

Following a Bundesliga-winning season at Leverkusen, Alonso quickly shot up the managerial wanted list, with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City all linked.
Alonso eventually joined Madrid in the summer of 2025 but was sacked in January this year after a tough run of results.
With Liverpool currently struggling under Arne Slot, Alonso has been linked with a summer move to Anfield.

Recently, Spanish news outlet Okdiario claimed that Alonso had agreed to take over from Slot at the end of the 25/26 season if the Dutchman fails to win the Champions League.
However, Alonso's agent, Ibanez, has now rejected the above claims.
He said to WinWin: "All the talk about an agreement with Liverpool is just media speculation."
It has been claimed that Alonso is currently looking at all offers and will decide his next move in due course.
Meanwhile, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano said: "At the moment there is nothing done, agreed, in talks, advanced, between Xabi Alonso and Liverpool. I can guarantee that nothing has been decided. At the end of the season, Liverpool will have an internal review involving players, managers and all people at the club.
"So there is going to be an internal conversation to review the season, but at the moment, nothing is decided. Nothing is agreed with Xabi Alonso. There is an appreciation of course, former Liverpool player, top coach, so for sure the feelings are positive between Xabi Alonso and Liverpool. But nothing at all has been agreed as of today."
