Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says he has "no wish" to be part of Mo Salah's Anfield farewell as "every Liverpool fan has something far better and more dramatic in mind".
On Tuesday night, Salah announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season.
The 33-year-old forward, who has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances for Liverpool, making him third on the club’s all-time top goalscorers list behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt, confirmed his exit in an emotional video.
"Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season," he said.

"I wanted to start by saying that... I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It's a passion. It's a history. It's a spirit I can't explain in words to anyone not part of this club."
Salah, who has won two Premier League titles and a Champions League with Liverpool, will go down in history as one of the Premier League's all-time greats.

In fact, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes only Thierry Henry is ahead of Salah when it comes to the Premier League's greatest overseas player.
"In the pantheon of overseas attacking players to have excelled in England, only Thierry Henry eclipses Salah's output and consistency," Carragher wrote in his latest column for The Telegraph.
"While many will argue the merits of players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp or Eric Cantona, none of them produced the same devastating numbers as consistently, season-after-season, as the Egyptian."
Salah’s final Liverpool game could be against Brentford on the last day of the Premier League season, but Liverpool fans will be hoping that they can go all the way in this season's Champions League.
Jamie Carragher explains why he has 'no wish' to be part of Mo Salah's Anfield farewell
To cap off his piece, Carragher backed Salah to get the "grand farewell" he deserves.
"Confirming his intentions now guarantees the kind of emotional, grand farewell that a player of his standing deserves, which is why it was so critically important that neither he nor the club entertained any offers for him in the January window," he wrote.

That being said, Carragher is not content with giving him an Anfield farewell and instead, he wants the Egyptian to bow out by winning another Champions League.
"I have one final admission, however. While I will celebrate his career, I have no wish to be part of a grand Anfield farewell after the club’s final Premier League fixture in May," continued Carragher.
"Every Liverpool fan has something far better and more dramatic in mind. Knowing Salah’s mindset and competitive spirit, he will be setting his sights on the greatest of all possible goodbyes a week later: inspiring his team to victory in the Champions League final in Budapest."
Carragher added: "Do not bet against the perfect send-off."
