Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has suggested that Mohamed Salah may have played his final game for the club after picking up an injury during the Reds’ 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.
On Saturday, Liverpool took a step closer to securing Champions League football with a comfortable victory over Oliver Glasner’s side, as goals from Alexander Isak, Andrew Robertson and Florian Wirtz ensured Daniel Muñoz’s second-half strike was merely a consolation for the Eagles.
Despite the win putting Slot’s side level on points with third-placed Manchester United — who face Brentford on Monday — Salah’s early exit left a sour taste among those in attendance at Anfield.
The 33-year-old, who will leave the club this summer, was withdrawn on the hour mark after going down holding his left leg.

As he left the field, Salah applauded the Liverpool supporters, who returned the favour, showing their gratitude to one of the club’s all-time greats.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after his side’s victory, Slot issued a worrying update, suggesting that Salah may have played his final game for Liverpool.
“It’s too early to say, but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch,” Slot said.
“For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something, but we have to wait and see how bad it is.”
In a separate interview with Sky Sports, he added: “My honest answer is yes [he’s played his final game for the club], the way he came off.
“It went through his mind because there are only a few weeks to go, but we are hoping he plays for us again.
“You have tests to do and then we have to wait for the prognosis.”
Salah will leave Liverpool as one of the greatest players to have graced Anfield, with his 257 goals in 440 appearances placing him third on the club’s all-time scorers list, behind icons Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.
Liverpool return to action next Sunday (May 3), when they face rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Reds will then finish the season with matches against Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford.
