Jamie Carragher believes Arne Slot made a 'sackable offence' in Liverpool's bruising 4-1 defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered a heavy defeat to PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Reds went behind when Ivan Perisic converted a penalty in the sixth minute, but Slot's side equalised through Dominik Szoboszlai.

But the Dutch outfit produced a rampant second-half display and took advantage of Liverpool's frailties, scoring three answered goals, including a Couhaib Driouech brace.

Critics slammed Liverpool's showing against PSV, including former player Dietmar Hamann, who singled out Mohamed Salah's 'disgraceful' act.

Carragher also made his feelings known on CBS Sports and claimed Slot made a 'sackable offence'.

The Liverpool legend took aim at Ibrahima Konate and said the 47-year-old 'should be sacked' for continuing to pick the defender.

In a clip posted by CBS Sports, Carragher can be seen calling someone before exclaiming: "I've f**king had enough of them honest to God. That Konate... I mean that's a sackable offence for the manager for f**king keep picking him. He should be sacked for that."

Pressure is mounting on Slot, who is under-fire following a run of three consecutive defeats.

Carragher questioned Slot's position at Liverpool and reckons the defeat to PSV will tip some fans over the edge on the Dutchman.

"It’s not been the only rough night, has it I mean, this has been like this all season. I think we said after the first game of the Champions League group stage that the result had been coming for Liverpool," he said.

"Liverpool don’t notoriously, or historically, I should say, change managers, especially ones who won a league title. I don’t think Liverpool have ever changed a manager in their history who won a league title.

"But I think there will be a lot of supporters tonight thinking, you know, is it at that stage, yeah? And you just cannot believe you’re saying something like that when you consider what happened in the manager’s first season, which was absolutely out of this world."

Slot's team resume their faltering Premier League campaign on Sunday when they face Crystal Palace.
