Ibrahima Konate has hit out at a Liverpool fan account after comments were made about his performance against Burnley.
After a stoppage-time penalty at Turf Moor, Liverpool have made a perfect start to the Premier League season, winning their first four games.
But the reigning champions have looked far from their best and required late goals to maintain the winning run. One player who came under fire for his disappointing performances in the opening two games against Bournemouth and Newcastle was Konate.
With his contract set to expire next summer, many fans speculated that he was no longer focused on Liverpool, with a move to Real Madrid reportedly on the cards. But he was much improved against Arsenal before the international break and was dependable again on Sunday at Burnley.

One Liverpool fan account took to Instagram to give Konate credit for his upturn in form.

@AnfieldSector wrote: "If Konate plays like he has in the last two games for the rest of the season I'll have no issue wishing him well if he decides to leave at the end of the season, top draw.
"Would love us to renew him but feels unlikely."

Konate replied: "The problem is some of you forget too quick... only after two games."
Will Ibrahima Konate leave Liverpool?
Right now, it feels most likely that he will move on from Anfield next summer, with Real Madrid wanting to take another Liverpool player on the cheap.
The Spanish giants have made a habit of signing stars on free transfers, including Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba.

For Madrid, such deals remove the need to pay huge transfer fees, which allows the player to pocket a larger signing-on fee.

Konate has been at Liverpool since 2021, when he joined from German side RB Leipzig. He struggled to establish himself under Jurgen Klopp, as he battled injury problems while Joel Matip proved to be a dependable option.
But last season under Arne Slot, Konate became firmly first-choice, partnering club captain Virgil van Dijk at the heart of defence

At 6 foot 4 and as a powerful defender, Konate has proven himself well-suited to the physical demands of the Premier League.
Even so, he may find the lure of joining Real Madrid too great to turn down.
For Liverpool, they are already considering a replacement, with Marc Guehi on thei radar.
The Crystal Palace captain was close to joining this summer, and even underwent a medical, but the deal fell through.

With Guehi's contract expiring in 2026, Liverpool may try again in January, or wait until the end of the season to bring him in for free.
