Real Madrid target three world-class signings to make Xabi Alonso's side 'unbeatable'

Real Madrid have set their sights on three of the biggest names in world football to help bolster Xabi Alonso's squad.

Reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid have their eye on three players that could take Xabi Alonso’s star-studded squad to the next level.

Los Blancos have already signed four players this summer as they look to win back La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Dean Huijsen has arrived from Bournemouth for a reported £62.5 million, and the Spanish giants didn’t stop there.

They have also added Álvaro Carreras, Franco Mastantuono, and Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold to their squad over the summer.

The England international made his La Liga debut for the club in a 1-0 win over Osasuna last Tuesday, but came off in the 68th minute.

However, Spanish website MARCA has now revealed that Madrid are already lining up their shopping spree, insisting that they have three big names in mind.

The first player on Alonso’s wish list is Paris Saint-Germain star Vitinha, who caught the world’s attention with his performances for club and country during the 2024/2025 campaign.

He not only guided the club to their first UEFA Champions League triumph but also pulled the strings as Portugal stormed to victory in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain.

Vitinha ended the season with 59 appearances for the French giants, scoring eight goals and producing five assists.

MARCA’s article suggests that the midfielder has a release clause in his contract that will come into effect next summer, paving the way for a potential move to the Bernabeu.

That is not all, though.

The same article also suggests that Madrid want to bolster their defence by signing one of the Premier League’s top defenders.

Los Blancos have apparently targeted either Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate or Arsenal favourite William Saliba.

Konate joined The Reds from RB Leipzig in 2021 and was a key part of Arne Slot’s title-winning squad last term.

He made 42 appearances across all competitions, but is out of contract at the end of the 2025/2026 season, meaning he could be available on a free.

Saliba appears to be the tougher deal to get over the line, with the Frenchman apparently contracted to Arsenal until 2028.

The defender is also key to Mikel Arteta’s hopes of taking the club to the next level after making 51 appearances for the North London club last season.
