Federico Chiesa has got Liverpool fans talking after footage of the winger in training emerged.

Last month, it was confirmed that Italian forward Chiesa had joined Liverpool from Serie A giants Juventus, in a deal worth a reported fee of £12.5 million.

Upon joining the club, the 26-year-old said: “I’m so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool?’ – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans. So, I’m so happy and I can’t wait to get started.

“And I just want to say something that stuck to my mind when I was about to land [in] the aeroplane. I saw Anfield and as soon as I saw Anfield I said to my wife, 'Put the song on, YNWA, because I want to imagine myself playing there and hearing the chant of the fans.’”

After his move, Chiesa was left out of the Italy squad for the latest international break.

With a number of Liverpool stars away playing for their country, Chiesa was spotted training with some of the club’s youngsters.

In a video posted on social media, Chiesa showed his class as he produced a fine curling shot into the top corner.

Reacting, one fan said: “I hope he starts our next game.”

Another tweeted: “Clinical is what he is.”

A third fan added: “My boy will score alot of goals this season.”

Someone else wrote: “Thats the type of players we really need, clinical and direct on goal.”

A fifth commented: “Luis Diaz on form and Cheisa looking good is a good problem to have.”

Speaking about Chiesa, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “I don’t think anyone will need me to tell them about his quality because it has been very clear for a number of years in both club football and international football.

“Federico is at a really good age. He brings experience and talent, but at the same time he brings the potential to keep on getting better and this is something that really excites us.”
