Mo Salah's dislocated shoulder gives Andy Robertson Liverpool injury hope

Mo Salah's dislocated shoulder gives Andy Robertson Liverpool injury hope

Andy Robertson was forced off with a shoulder injury during Scotland vs Spain

Mohamed Salah’s previous dislocated shoulder injury could give Liverpool hope after Andy Robertson suffered a similar injury.

On Thursday night, Scotland captain Robertson was forced off with a suspected shoulder injury after being landed on by Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon.

Heading into the match, Scotland only needed a point to seal qualification for Euro 2024. However, they were beaten 2-0 thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata and Oihan Sancet after Scott McTominay had a stunning free-kick ruled out.

After the match, Scotland boss Steve Clarke spoke about Robertson's injury, he said: “We'll have a look and he'll go back to his club now.

“We'll see how it is and how it settles down. Hopefully, he's good for his club as soon as possible and ready to help us in November.”

Liverpool are now sweating over the severity of the injury.

However, Salah’s injury from the 2018 Champions League final could give Liverpool hope.

Egyptian superstar Salah was forced off in tears after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder against Real Madrid.

Normally, according to the NHS, a dislocated shoulder takes around 12-16 weeks to fully heal.

However, it was later revealed by the Egyptian FA that Salah had suffered ‘a sprain on the shoulder ligaments’.

Salah ended up featuring for Egypt in the 2018 World Cup, which kicked off 18 days after the Champions League final in Kyiv.

Whilst Liverpool wait for the severity of Robertson’s injury, they will be praying that the left-back has suffered a similar injury to Salah, which means he could be back in action much sooner than first feared.

After the international break, Liverpool will face local rivals Everton in the first Merseyside Derby of the season.
