Real Madrid created an unwanted piece of history on Wednesday night after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.
It has been a campaign to forget for Carlo Ancelotti's side, who currently sit 24th in the Champions League table with two wins from a possible five.
Back in October, they fell to their first Champions League defeat since May 2023 as Ligue 1 side Lille pulled off an almighty upset at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium.

And just weeks later, Los Blancos suffered their second loss in the group stage after being beaten convincingly by AC Milan at the Bernabeu.
Now, after falling to a 2-0 defeat against Premier League leaders Liverpool, Ancelotti's men have created an unwanted record.
For the first time in their history, Real Madrid have lost three games in the group stage/league phase of the Champions League.

After goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo handed Liverpool all three points, Madrid are dangerously close to elimination.
At the time of writing, the Spanish giants currently sit in 24th in the table, which is the final round of 16 play-off spot.
Liverpool, meanwhile, beat Madrid in the Champions League for the first time since 2009 – a victory that ends an eight game winless run against Los Blancos.

After their defeat to AC Milan this month, Carlo Ancelotti insisted his team "should be worried" after goals from Malick Thiaw, Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders handed the Italian side a surprise win.
He also admitted that the Spanish side are "missing something" in games.
