Liverpool show their appreciation for some of the all-time greats in their away changing room at Anfield, including a former Real Madrid player who was the last defender to win a Ballon d'Or.
Arne Slot's side will host Real Madrid on Tuesday night in what is expected to be another memorable Champions League night on Merseyside.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will step into the away dressing room for the first time as he makes his much-anticipated return to Anfield, just months after leaving on a controversial free transfer.
Away from Trent and the rivalry between Liverpool and Real Madrid is a historic one. They are the only pair of teams to have faced each other in three Champions League finals, in 1981, 2018 and 2022.

And a number of former Los Blancos players – including Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabio Cannavaro – are celebrated at Anfield.

In the away dressing room at Liverpool's home, the shirts of 11 players who have graced Anfield throughout the years are displayed for fans who attend the stadium tour.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi feature on the walls, alongside Thierry Henry, Andres Iniesta and former Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro, who enjoyed a trophy-laden three year spell at Los Blancos.

As per various reports, it is said Liverpool display those shirts in particular after Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher named them in his best XI players he came up against at Anfield.
Carragher, who spent his entire club career with Liverpool, winning the Champions League, three League Cups, two FA Cups and UEFA Cup, has previously opened up on some of his toughest opponents.
He named former Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon as "the best of his generation" before describing Paulo Maldini and Cafu as the "two best full-backs of all time" when speaking to Sky Sports.

He would go on to name Thierry Henry as the greatest Premier League player of all time and "certainly" his toughest opponent.
"That Arsenal Invincibles [2003-04] team he played in and the two or three years around that would certainly be the toughest opponent I played at and that's home and abroad," he said.
Carragher added: "I was very fortunate to come up against some of the best players in the world in that time through the success we had in different seasons at Liverpool."
