Jose Mourinho could reportedly land a Euro 2024 and former Premier League star as his first signing as Fenerbahce manager.

Mourinho took over at the Turkish Super Lig giants earlier this month, shortly after they missed out on the league title to fierce rivals Galatasaray.

Fenerbahce lost only once in the league last season and accumulated 99 points - more than any team had recorded in any other season of the Turkish Super Lig.

Unfortunately for them, Galatasaray collected 102 points, with Okan Buruk's side going on an 18-match winning run between January and May.

The runners-up spot led to the departure of Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal, with Mourinho the preferred candidate of the Turkish club's board to replace him.

Mourinho is yet to get to work in the transfer market ahead of the upcoming season, but has already been linked with signing a series of high-profile names including Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku and Al Nassr's Anderson Talisca, as well as sealing a potential loan return for Real Madrid starlet Arda Guler.

While the Portuguese boss poured cold water on the Lukaku reports, it is claimed that he could sign a former Chelsea player instead.

That player is Atletico Madrid and Portugal's Joao Felix, who spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

Felix was sent off on his Blues debut away at Fulham, and although he failed to set the Premier League alight, did net four goals in 16 appearances.

His time at Barcelona on loan this season has been more successful, with the forward scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The 24-year-old, who is set to return to Atletico Madrid this summer but is expected to leave again, has been named as part of Roberto Martinez's Portugal squad for Euro 2024.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Felix's agent Jorge Mendes has offered the forward to Mourinho as part of his attempts to seal an Atletico exit.

Mendes is also Mourinho's agent, and has helped secure a host of major transfer deals for his clients during his long career in football.

Felix and Portugal take on Czech Republic in their first Euro 2024 group stage game on Tuesday at 8pm.
