James Maddison was in attendance at the PDC World Darts Championship final on Wednesday and had his sign confiscated by security.

The Spurs and England midfielder is a huge darts fan and has even showed off an arrows celebration after scoring.

He invited 16-year-old finalist Luke Littler to his box to watch Spurs' win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

Littler, a staunch Manchester United fan, was beaten 7-4 on sets by Luke Humphries in a sensational final.

Maddison, still currently sidelined with injury, was among a number of stars who turned out at 'Ally Pally'.

Fans appeared to spot him as chants of "Tottenham get battered everywhere they go" rang out at the iconic London venue.

Maddison had a response, however, holding up a sign which said: "North London is white, COYS."

But security weren't having any of it and according to the Daily Star, the Paddy Power sign was taken off the former Leicester City man.

Security are known to confiscate signs from individuals at the darts if they believe they could be deemed offensive.

Littler was 4-2 up and lost five sets in a row but still showed his class and claimed a life-changing £200,000 in prize money.

Maddison, meanwhile, joined Spurs in the summer and had three goals and assisted five in his first 11 games.

He suffered a nasty injury in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea and hasn't featured since.

Giving an update to Ben Foster for Amazon Prime, Maddison said: "It's healing well, it's a bit of a slow burner which is obviously frustrating because like you said, I started the season so well. But it's healing, slowly but surely.

"It's frustrating, you know what it's like being injured, everyday is tough, especially at Spurs, the training ground has got the big window so the physio room is just looking perfectly out to the training pitch watching all the lads train and prepare for the games at the minute.

"You have that helpless feeling but it's recovering well, it's one of them, it's going to take a bit of time, you've got to just accept it and then crack on with the rehab."
