Jack Grealish Has Famous Relative Who Everton Fans Won’t Be Aware Of

The Manchester City winger, currently on loan at Everton, comes from a well-known family.

Jack Grealish has a well-known relative that fans may not be aware of.

Since arriving at Everton on a season-long loan from parent club Manchester City in August, Grealish has cut a happy figure after previously struggling at City during the 2024/25 campaign.

The 30-year-old former Aston Villa winger has enjoyed the freedom given to him by Toffees boss David Moyes and has contributed with one goal – a last-gasp winner against Crystal Palace on Sunday – as well as four assists, with some calling for him to be named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming internationals.

Despite missing out on a Three Lions call-up this time around, Grealish will no doubt be giving Tuchel a selection headache if he continues to perform as he is currently.

The winger is undoubtedly the best-known member of his family and boasts fans from the blue sides of both Manchester and Merseyside, but he also has a well-known family member.

Footballers’ unlikely relatives are often a topic of interest to supporters. Several years back, United fans were shocked when they realised that Kobbie Mainoo’s brother took part in reality TV show Love Island.

There are several other examples, including City striker Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, who also played in the Premier League for Manchester City and Leeds United.

Iconic former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel’s son, Kasper, also won the Premier League with Leicester back in 2015 and currently plays in Scotland for Celtic.

As for Grealish, his notable relative is his great-great-grandfather, Billy Garraty.

Garraty, like Grealish, played for Villa and scored 27 times in 33 matches during the side’s 1899/1900 title-winning season.

He went on to score 111 goals for the Midlands side, which earned him an England cap against Wales in 1903.

Then, in the 1905 FA Cup final victory over Newcastle United, he was awarded Man of the Match.

Aside from Villa, Garraty also played for Leicester Fosse, West Bromwich Albion and Lincoln City.

Jack’s father, Kevin, previously quipped: “Billy came from Karen’s side of the family, and that has caused a few rows because her family keep telling us that Jack inherited skills from them!”

Jack has also suggested that he is keen to learn more about his great-great-grandfather.

“I don’t know a lot about him, apart from the fact he won the league and cup with Villa,” Jack told the Mirror in 2024.

"I have no idea what happened to his medals. I’d love to know more about him.”
