Jack Grealish was shown a strange red card as Everton's home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers suddenly spiraled into complete mayhem.
On Wednesday night, 16 of the 20 Premier League sides were in action in a dramatic night of football across England.
Among the matches taking place was a clash between Everton and a Wolverhampton Wanderers side fresh off their first win of the season.
Things initially looked like they were going to plan for Everton as a goal from defender Michael Keane saw them take the lead at the Hill Dickinson stadium.

However, things suddenly took a turn for the worse as two Everton players were sent off late in the match, with Grealish shown a red card without even committing a foul.

Just 20 minutes before the final whistle, Everton saw their 1-0 lead vanish as Wolves star Mateus Mane scored his second consecutive goal to equalise in the match.
The goal clearly raised tensions in the match, eventually leading to Everton's goalscorer Keane being shown a red card for serious foul play.
The Toffees defender was initally shown yellow for the offence on Tolu Arokodare, but a VAR check decided showed that it was violent conduct as he had pulled the Wolves striker's hair.
And things only got worse for the home side as just six minutes later, star player Grealish was also shown a red card after receiving a second yellow card, despite the fact neither card was given to him for a foul.
The first of Grealish's yellow cards came after he was booked for dissent after Keane's red card, with his second coming after he sarcastically applauded the referee after winning a foul moments before being sent off.
Amid the chaos, Everton manager David Moyes was also cautioned for leaving his technical area.

With Keane's offence being deemed as violent conduct, the Englishman will be banned for the Everton's next three games while Grealish will miss only one.
This means that Everton will be without both men for their FA Cup match against Sunderland on Saturday, with Keane also absent for the Premier League meetings with Aston Villa and Leeds United.
