Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has already revealed what the Red Devils dressing room feels about the viral supporter who has pledged not to cut his hair until the team win five consecutive matches.

Frank Ilett, who runs the social media page The United Strand, first vowed not to get his hair cut until United won five successive games in the autumn of 2024, but he may not have expected to wait this long to get a long-overdue trim.

But after 15 months, the Red Devils have yet to achieve the feat, meaning Ilett now sports a rather thick afro-hairstyle.

On Sunday (February 8), the content creator posted his usual daily video in which he showed his hair while telling fans that it was day 491 without a haircut.

However, he may soon be booking an appointment at the barber shop, given the fact United have won their last four games – against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Spurs – meaning if the Red Devils beat West Ham United at the London Stadium on Tuesday (February 10), Ilett will finally be able to get a haircut.

Whether there are any official plans for the occasion remains unclear, despite Ilett previously telling BBC News that he would like to get his trim at Old Trafford, “or at least somewhere nearby”.

But even the United squad have commented on Ilett’s remarkable challenge.

Speaking to DAZN back in October 2025, following United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield, United full-back Dalot was asked about Ilett’s challenge before saying that he hoped that “we can give him that haircut”.

“… We have to go game by game,” Dalot said.

“Obviously, we know this is a very difficult league; we have tough games and, of course, we have to go after that consistency that we have lacked because we have already shown in the past that we can compete against any team in the world."

And Dalot was not the only United star to mention Ilett this season, with goalkeeper Senne Lammens also offering his thoughts when he spoke to Sporza in October.

At the time, United were on a three-game winning run with the Belgian saying that he hoped the side could win the next two matches so Ilett could finally shave his hair.

However, they failed to do so, and so Ilett has been made to wait a while longer.
