Paddy Power Make Huge Decision Ahead of Liverpool vs Man City Game

The bookies have made a massive call ahead of the Premier League meeting at Anfield.

Paddy Power have confirmed that they are paying out a massive bet ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool welcome rivals Manchester City to Anfield for a match that could prove to be crucial for both club's season.

For Liverpool, a win would avenge their 3-0 loss in the reverse fixture and keep them in a strong spot to keep their place in the Champions League positions, despite Chelsea and Manchester United winning on Saturday.

Meanwhile for City, all three points will be needed if they hope to stay in the title race after Arsenal extended their lead to nine points after beating Sunderland.

But ahead of the match even kicking off, Paddy Power has made a surprise call as they've decided to pay out a massive bet.

Last season, Paddy Power decided to pay out all bets on Liverpool to win the Premier League early, allowing fans to cash in on the bet in late February when there were still 12 matches to go.

And now, the bookies have made the same decision even earlier as, following their win over Sunderland, Paddy Power took to social media to confirm that all bets on Arsenal to win the league would now be paid out.

Confirming the news on X, Paddy Power wrote: "The Gunners are now 9 points clear at the top so we are PAYING OUT on Arsenal to win the league.

"Nothing could possibly go wrong now, right Arsenal fans?"

Naturally, Arsenal fans were not exactly happy with the news, with many of them feeling that the bookies had now put some kind of curse on the Gunners for the rest of the season.

Reacting to the announcement, one fan wrote: "Don’t do this! We won’t win it with this jynx"

While another pointed out what could still change, adding: "Talk about going early.

"If City win tomorrow it’s 6 points and Arsenal still have to go to the Etihad as well as derbies away to Spurs and home to Chelsea within a close space of time. It’s anything but over yet."

With a confident United fan joking: "Man, you lads are gonna be so embarrassed when Carrick and the boys win the next 13 games in a row to clinch it on the last day of the season."

And it would appear that these fans have every right to be concerned, as earlier this season Paddy Power decided to pay out on Celtic to win the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership as early as August.

Since then, Celtic have fallen to third in the league and are now six points behind league leaders Hearts.

However, some fans delighted with the announcement as they replied showing pictures of their successful betslips, with one fan even winning £300 from the early pay out.
