The former bodyguard of Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up on what it was like to work for the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward on a day-to-day basis – and it makes for fascinating reading.
Hichman Bukhari, a PMC private military contractor and CPO close protection operative who has over 127,000 followers on Instagram, spent four years working for one of the most recognisable figures in the world and his family.
Throughout this time, the Madrid-based bodyguard was faced with some challenging situations, meaning the security team had strategies in place to keep Ronaldo, his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children, safe from danger.

Speaking to Telecinco, Hichman said: "We always have to know where we're going, who will be there, and have clear entry and exit points, as well as contact points. We must always be aware that our lives could be at risk. We have to be willing to protect a person, and sometimes we have to give our lives to protect them.
"If I have to use weapons, I will use them. The most important thing is having the ability to think quickly, solve problems, and remain calm in difficult situations."
Ronaldo's profile was not high-risk as people didn't want to kill him, and he didn't receive death threats, according to Hichman, but the Portugal international was threatened by fans or people who "wanted to rob him".

Hichman, who claims he earned £850 per day providing security for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, would also give an insight into his relationship with Ronaldo.
"He is the best boss I've ever had," said the bodyguard. "We have a good relationship. Working with him wasn't like working with someone threatened with death or kidnap. We had some silly incidents with paparazzi or crazy fans, but nothing major.
"He's a great person, very generous, and not like what people talk about him as."

Back in 2023, it emerged that one of Ronaldo's bodyguards was a former MMA fighter who won seven fights in his career.
Goncalo Salgado, who was from Seixal on the outskirts of Lisbon, spent much of his career in the heavyweight division. In fact, he finished with a 7-2 record and ended up ballooning to 300lbs after moving into private security.
When Ronaldo returned to Manchester United, he also beefed up his security with the additions of twins Sergio and Jorge Ramalheiro, who joined the army after leaving school and served as soldiers as part of special forces unit in Afghanistan.
The brothers, who are two of a set of triplets, previously worked with the Portuguese police guarding key political figures but took unpaid leave to become Ronaldo's bodyguards. They also joined Ronaldo for his official presentation as an Al Nassr player in 2023.
