Club offers board position for first person to win Premier League with them on Football Manager

One Football Manager player will put their skills to the test.

A football club has offered a position on the board to the first person that wins the Premier League with them on the Football Manager computer game.

Once you realise that you don't have what it takes to become a professional footballer, buying your local team and leading them to glory is surely the next best thing.

It's a dream shared by millions of football fanatics around the world, even if few people actually manage to do it. So, what's the next best thing? Football Manager of course.

The video game series has allowed supporters to live out their dreams in a virtual capacity since the 1980s, although it's fair to say that the game has changed a fair bit over the years.

Every player has their unique FM story, whether it be guiding their favourite club to world domination, embarking on a rags-to-riches story with a local non-league side.

The computer game is a phenomenon that has captured the imaginations of fans and professional footballers alike, and in recent years the crossovers between the game and real life have increased.

Fans have traveled to watch lowly teams in places like Italy and Iceland after managing them in the game, while some clubs actually use the game's database to aid player recruitment.

Now, one lucky player is going to have the chance take up a boardroom position at a club, provided they pull of a remarkable achievement first.

AFC Crewe, a community-owned club playing in the 12th tier of English football, have offered a place on the club's board to the first person that guides them to the Premier League title in Football Manager.

The club's official X account posted: 'AFC Crewe are offering a share of the club to the first person to win the Premier League with us on @FootballManager.

'The first to do it will become an official shareholder and join the club's board who run the club online... exactly like Football Manager. To begin just download the E20 - England Level 13 database!'

Players will have to begin life in Division One of the Staffordshire County Senior League, the 12th tier of English football. The official National League System begins at the 10th tier.

One thing is for certain: whoever manager to take AFC Crewe to Premier League glory will surely be qualified to help the club in the real world.
