Gary Neville Urges Rosenior To Make 'Harsh' Garnacho Call vs West Ham

Chelsea found themselves 2-0 down at half-time to West Ham, courtesy of goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.

Gary Neville did not hold back as he called for Liam Rosenior to make a "harsh" decision after Chelsea found themselves 2-0 down to West Ham on Saturday evening.

Rosenior made a number of changes from the side which beat Serie A champions Napoli 3-2 and his side were repeatedly killed down their left flank, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jarrod Bowen causing chaos.

Bowen opened the scoring with a cross which went all the way in, before Crysencio Summerville doubled the lead from a Wan-Bissaka cut-back.

The duo destroyed both Alejandro Garnacho and Jorrel Hato, who simply could not compete with their dynamism and energy down the right.

On co-commentary for Sky Sports, Neville was stunned by what he was watching - with 56% of West Ham's attacks coming down the right wing.

In a brutal verdict, he felt as though Rosenior would have been well within his rights to make a first-half substitution.

"I'm very surprised Liam Rosenior hasn't acted," Neville said on commentary.

"| know it's harsh to substitute a player in the first half, but they have been absolutely torn apart down this side."

Pedro Neto was already introduced in the first half after Jamie Gittens picked up an injury and while another sub wasn't made in line with Neville's thinking, wholesale changes were rang at half-time.

Both Marc Cucurella and Joao Pedro warmed up in their kits at half-time and were joined by Wesley Fofana, who also entered the fray.

Garnacho and Hato made way after being dominated, with Benoit Badashille also sacrificed. The subs meant a change in shape, with Cole Palmer moving to the right and Joao Pedro playing off Liam Delap.
