Michael Olise gave a brutally honest response when asked how he felt after beating the “Kings of the Competition” after Bayern knocked Real Madrid out of the Champions League.
Olise played a starring role in Bayern’s 4–3 (6–4 on aggregate) victory over Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday (April 15), with the German giants setting up an exciting semi-final clash against reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite Arda Güler’s brace, as well as Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé being among the scorers, Olise picked up the UEFA Man of the Match award for his performance.
The former Crystal Palace man curled the final goal of the game — his 18th of the season — past Andriy Lunin in the 94th minute to confirm his side’s victory, putting the finishing touch on a truly dazzling display.

After the match, Olise spoke to TNT Sports Brazil and gave a surprising response when asked how he felt after beating the “Kings of the Competition”, with Real having previously won the European Cup/Champions League on 15 occasions.
“Kings of the Competition,” Olise scoffed, before the reporter added: “[Real have won] 15 trophies, I think… historically.”
Although the reporter may have had a point when referring to Los Blancos with such acclaim, Bayern could become the joint second-most successful club in the competition if they triumph this season, with the Bavarians — along with Liverpool — currently on six European titles, while AC Milan have seven.
In a separate interview with the UK-based branch of TNT Sports, Olise added: “Good match, back and forth.
“We knew they would come and try to come back. At first it was a bit like goal, goal, goal, but eventually, when it calmed down, we played a bit better in the second half and took our chances.
“We showed good resilience to keep coming back. In the end, it was a result we’re happy with.
“The red card was late. We had built momentum before that — the game was going our way. Maybe it helped a bit, but the game was still going how it was going.
“I tried it five or six times before; I was getting closer each time, and it was nice to score.”
Bayern return to Bundesliga action at home against Stuttgart on April 19, with Vincent Kompany’s side nine points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund with five games remaining.
