Gabriel limped off in Brazil's international friendly against Senegal as Carlo Ancelotti provided an update following the game.
Brazil, who have qualified for next summer's World Cup, took on Senegal in a friendly at Arsenal's Emirates on Saturday.
And Ancelotti's team secured an impressive two-nil win over Senegal, who beat England in a friendly during the summer.
Chelsea star Estevao opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Manchester United's Casemiro doubled Brazil's lead seven minutes later.

But Brazil's victory came at a price as Gabriel was forced off after sustaining an injury in the second-half.
He pulled up on the hour mark with a suspected groin issue and was replaced.
After the match, Brazil boss Ancelotti was asked about the injury to Gabriel.
Asked how bad the injury is, Ancelotti replied: "No... bad, I don't know. I think he had the problem in his abductor. The medical staff has to check tomorrow. We are really sorry for this.... really disappointed when a player has an injury.
"I hope that he can recover well and [be back] soon," he added.

Gabriel's injury won't go down well with Mikel Arteta, who has relied on the star defender this season.
The 27-year-old has played every Premier League game this season and has starred at the back, with Arsenal conceding just five league goals in 11 games.
The timing of the injury isn't ideal given Arsenal's run of fixtures following the international break.
The Gunners resume their league campaign on November 23 when they host cross-city rivals Tottenham in the first North London derby of the season.
A huge Champions League tie against Bayern Munich follows.
Arsenal then have tricky league matches against Chelsea, Brentford and Aston Villa.

What's more, Gabriel could be joined by Riccardo Calafiori on the sidelines as the Italian was ruled out of his country's World Cup qualifier against Norway due to a hip injury.
He has since returned to Arsenal to be assessed.
Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso said: "He tried, and we thank him for the professionalism, desire, and dedication he’s shown, which is good for us as a group.
"We could have made him grit his teeth, but that’s not fair because he’ll have matches every three or four days."
Arsenal will be hoping both Gabriel and Calafiori recover in time for their showdown against Spurs next Sunday.
