Bayern Munich publicly transfer list three players who 'won't play' if they don't leave this summer

Bayern Munich have taken the surprise step of publicly transfer listing three players - and they have all been told they 'won't play' if they don't manage to secure a move away.

Vincent Kompany's side are reigning Bundesliga champions and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League while playing free-flowing, attacking football.

Their summer transfer window has been relatively quiet thus far, with left-back Nathaniel Brown and forward Ismael Saibari being their two marquee acquisitions.

Their incoming business looks to be ending there, with focus now moving on to moving players on before the window shuts.

The club's honorary president Uli Hoeness has denied suggestions that star playmaker Michael Olise could be among the departures amid significant interest from Real Madrid, telling reporters on Friday: "He still has three years on his contract, so for me that's not a topic at all.

"The Emperor of China could come to us and we still wouldn't talk to him. The same goes for Luis Diaz. We have the best attacking trio in the world with Olise, Diaz and Kane. We wouldn't think about selling any of them."

While those three players are off limits, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has told another trio that they can leave the club.

Eberl says that right-back Sacha Boey and winger Bryan Zaragoza are both surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena, along with midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Portugal international Palhinha spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Tottenham, and scored the only goal in their 1-0 final day win over Everton that secured Spurs' Premier League status.

It was expected that he would join Spurs on a permanent basis, but a deal was not struck and the north London club eventually secured the signing of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for £100 million.

Boey, meanwhile, was at Galatasaray on a temporary basis last term, while Zaragoza was at Roma. All three players returned to Bayern ahead of the beginning of pre-season.

"We have three players we are open to letting go. They have no future at Bayern," Eberl said.

"If they want to stay with us, it will be tough because we are not planning with them. Then they won't play a role. That's the case with Sacha Boey, Joao Palhinha and Bryan Zaragoza."

ESPN Brasil journalist Bruno Andrade claims that Newcastle are interested in signing Palhinha as a replacement for the outgoing Bruno Guimaraes.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee worth around £77million to sign Magpies captain Guimaraes after having two bids rejected.

Newcastle are reeling from the departure of manager Eddie Howe and, having already sold Tonali and Anthony Gordon this summer, are searching for reinforcements ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

The Magpies would be Palhinha's third Premier League club, with the 31-year-old Portuguese international having previously spent two seasons at Fulham.
