Bayern Munich punished player who 'fell asleep' during Vincent Kompany team talk

Bayern Munich punished a player for falling asleep in one of Vincent Kompany's team talks, it has now been revealed.

The Bundesliga celebrated their second consecutive Bundesliga title under Kompany at the weekend, wrapping up the league following a 4-2 win over Stuttgart.

The Bavarian giants are eyeing up a historic treble win, having secured a place in the DFB Pokal final as well as being two games away from reaching the Champions League final.

Former Manchester City captain Kompany has proved to have excellent tactically and transformed Bayern into a major force in Europe once again after a lull.

But the ex Burnley boss is also known to be a strict disciplinarian and it's emerged that one Bayern star was singled out after falling below standards.

According to SPORT BILD, youngster Wisdom Mike snoozed in a morning meeting having been out the night before with a fellow teammate.

Mike's outing in Munich is said to have been a late one and he returned to the campus late.

He did not deny the allegations and Kompany and the club took action. The Belgian decided against addressing the issue in public and spoke to Wisdom privately, as well as holding a conversation with his father.

However, he was made an example of in a different way. The 17-year-old was banned from the campus for a week and forced to pay for his own hotel as a punishment.

The matter was considered closed after that and the prospect has played five times in all competitions this season.

Signed from Duisburg in 2022, he has primarily played for the Under 19 side, featuring eleven times and scoring three goals.

Having been crowned Bundesliga champions and secured their place in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday, Bayern take on Mainz in the league on Saturday before they turn their attentions to the Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
