German media have made their feelings clear on Michael Olise after just nine Bayern Munich appearances

Michael Olise left Crystal Palace for Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

The German media have made a quick assessment of Michael Olise after just nine matches for Bayern Munich.

After impressing for Crystal Palace in the Premier League over the last few seasons, Olise was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal.

In the end, German giants Bayern managed to snap up the 22-year-old in a deal worth £50.8 million.

Since moving to Bavaria, Olise has managed six goals and three assists in nine matches across all competitions.

After his impressive start, former player Lothar Matthaus, who now works as a pundit on German TV said Olise could finally be Bayern’s replacement for Arjen Robben.

He said: “I would somehow see him if he plays for the next three or four years at Bayern.

“He sees his teammates even better than Arjen Robben. He has speed, game wit, he recognizes the situation; but, a little bit of Arjen Robben already.”

Sport BILD journalist Hendrik Deck stated: “The Frenchman already seems to be worth the 51 million transfer fee (plus bonuses) that they paid to Crystal Palace in the summer.

“He has already proven several times in his first games that Olise has what it takes to be a superstar in the Bundesliga.”

Meanwhile, Bayern boss Vincent Kompany has also praised Olise in public, saying: “Michael did well from the beginning, he could not have started much better. He has to go on like this, but I don't feel like he's a boy who feels a lot of pressure. He enjoys football.

“Of course, he has a very special talent and is a good player.”

Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga table after collecting 14 points from six matches.

However, Kompany's men are three matches without a win after drawing against Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt while also losing to Aston Villa in the Champions League this month.

After the international break, Bayern will return to Bundesliga action against VfB Stuttgart.
