Arsenal fans are convinced that it is time to sell one star player after his latest performance in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United.

On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal kicked off a pre-season friendly with Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the Singapore National Stadium.

Although much of the focus during the match will be around Arsenal unveiling Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool target Alexander Isak's absence from the Newcastle squad, fans of both teams have also been eagerly watching to see how their side is playing ahead of the new season.

Newcastle's latest signing Anthony Elanga immediately impressed by putting his side ahead just six minutes into the match, before Arsenal took the lead thanks to a goal from Mikel Merino and an own goal from Alex Murphy.

However, despite the fact that their team was in front at half-time, Arsenal fans immediately took to social media to call for one player to be sold before the transfer window closes.

There is now just three weeks until Arsenal begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign with an away trip to Old Trafford to face historic rivals Manchester United.

But before the game against United gets underway, Arsenal fans are adamant that Leandro Trossard should not be a part of the squad anymore due to his poor display against Newcastle.

The Belgian started the match but failed to impress during throughout the game, leading to some fans to take to social media and demand he is sold.

Reacting to Trossard's performance, one fan wrote on X: "Can’t do another season of Trossard. Just can’t."

While another added: "Arsenal gotta leave Trossard in Singapore."

One pointed out: "Madueke on the left simply can’t be worse than Trossard and Martinelli I refuse to believe it."

And one begged: "Stop the contract talks with Trossard please."

Who would replace Trossard at Arsenal?

Despite signing England winger Noni Madueke from local rivals Chelsea for a fee of just over £50million earlier in the window, it is believed that he will instead provide backup for Bukayo Saka on the right of Arsenal's attack.

Instead, Gabriel Martinelli could start as Arsenal's left-winger, unless the club makes a move for another new attacker in the coming weeks.

Should Arsenal decided to explore options for another attacker, it is widely believed that Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze would be top of their list, with several reports claiming that Gunners are considering a move.
