Mikel Arteta has named the Premier League team who always make Arsenal ‘suffer’.

This season, Arsenal are looking to go one better and clinch their first Premier League title since 2004.

Currently, the Gunners are two points behind league leaders Liverpool, who are set to take on second-placed Manchester City in a mouth-watering clash at Anfield on Sunday.

By the time that match kicks off, Arteta’s men could find themselves top of the table if they manage to win against Brentford.

Speaking ahead of the match, Arteta named the Bees as the team that always make Arsenal suffer.

He told reporters: “Every point that we left, or we left this season hurts, and that’s still there. We have a lot to play for, the difficulty of the match is always really tough.

“We’ve played them twice already and we suffered, we always suffer against Brentford. On Saturday I expect a really similar match.”

When asked about the importance of the Brentford match, he said: “That's the only thing we can control - perform well, play better than them and earn the right to win the game.

“Let’s do that and if we do that then on Sunday it's a beautiful game to watch for any football supporter, and I will certainly be watching it.”

Arteta added: “I can't control it. I will enjoy a magnificent game of football between two of the best teams in Europe in the last decade and let’s see what that brings, but the focus is on us and Brentford.

“Privately and publicly I have the same [answer] because it's nothing to do with me. Honestly, it is nothing to do with me. I will sit down with my kids and enjoy the match.”

Arteta was also quizzed on this season being the best title race in Premier League history, the Spaniard replied: “I can imagine that for a lot of people it is very interesting and we want to make it very interesting, especially for us, so we have to keep going.”
