Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has revealed what he told Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes as he embraced him after his decisive penalty miss in the Champions League final.
PSG became just the second team, alongside Real Madrid, to retain the Champions League with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Arsenal after the match ended 1-1 after extra time.
Kai Havertz put the Premier League champions ahead six minutes in before Cristhian Mosquera was adjudged to have fouled Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the penalty area. Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele made no mistake, slotting past David Raya from 12 yards to level things with 25 minutes to go.
Despite PSG dominating possession, they could not make their pressure pay before penalties ensued.

Arsenal's Eberechi Eze was the first player to miss a spot-kick before Raya saved Nuno Mendes' strike.
Declan Rice scored the Gunners' third penalty, while Gabriel Martinelli converted the fourth.
After Mendes' miss, PSG converted all of their remaining penalties, meaning Gabriel had to score Arsenal's fifth and what proved to be the final penalty. The Brazilian's left-footed strike missed the target and flew into the stands at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, prompting wild celebrations from the PSG faithful and players.
However, the French side's skipper, Marquinhos, opted to console Gabriel, with the pair set to share a dressing room while away with Brazil at the upcoming World Cup.
In the moments after the shootout, the PSG man embraced his counterpart and appeared to whisper a few words to him.
What did Marquinhos say to Gabriel?
In a later interview, he revealed what he told the Arsenal defender.
"As soon as he missed that penalty, I remembered what it felt like for me when I missed against Croatia to knock us out of the last World Cup," he said.
Of course, the defender's penalty miss at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar saw the five-time champions exit the competition at the quarter-final stage.
"It was a very difficult moment for him, a big responsibility," he added. "I've been through it myself and know how tough it is when that happens to you as a player.
"You have to be very strong to get out of a moment like that – and I know how hard that is.
"Gabriel really wanted to win this title and had all that pressure on him, knowing that if he missed, that dream had gone for him and we would be the champions.
"So I just wanted to take a few minutes out of my celebrations to reserve this time for him, to hug him and wish him well.
"I told him that I've been through this moment and I know how difficult it is, but that he can bounce back from it.
"Gabriel has played an amazing season for Arsenal, proved he is one of the best defenders in the world and shown everyone he's a great player.
"He did not deserve to have all that weight, from that moment of defeat, on his shoulders.
"And in Brazil, we need him for the World Cup. I just wanted to hug him, to show him how much he is valued by us and congratulate him for everything else he has done this season."
