The moment Declan Rice found out about West Ham's relegation to the Championship was captured by a fan at Selhurst Park, just moments before Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy.
It was a bittersweet afternoon for Rice, who spent eight years at West Ham before joining Arsenal in 2023.
After featuring in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, the midfielder celebrated Arsenal's first Premier League title win in 22 years by lifting the trophy in front of thousands who made the short journey south.
It was a euphoric moment for the England international but shortly before joining his teammates on the Selhurst Park pitch, he discovered West Ham's fate in a cruel twist.

Despite coming out on top against Leeds, the Hammers suffered relegation for the first time in 15 years after Tottenham picked up a 1-0 win over Everton to survive by two points.
The news about West Ham's relegation was broadcast over the tannoy system at Selhurst Park, and a visibly devastated Rice reacted by smacking his hands together in frustration, as seen in the footage below.
One fan reacted to the clip, saying: "This really hurts to see man. Declan Rice finding out West Ham are relegated. He still loves us," and a second commented: "He's proper West Ham, will always love the bloke."
Earlier this month, before West Ham and Arsenal met on May 10, Rice was full of praise for his former club.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport, he said: "It's a club that gave me everything. Without West Ham, there's no me and I honestly believe that. They gave me a chance when Chelsea didn't and a lot of people there really did push me on."
He also said it was "not nice" to see them in the position they're in.

West Ham player has told Nuno Espirito Santo he will 'never play for him again'
A report from The Athletic has claimed defender Jean-Clair Todibo exchanged words with Nuno Espirito Santo in the aftermath of last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
The Portuguese coach replaced Todibo with Taty Castellanos in the 25th minute, a decision which left Todibo furious.
He decided to complain to the goalkeeper coach, Rui Barbosa, and then voiced his opinion to Nuno. The resulting argument saw Todibo tell Nuno he would not play for West Ham again while he was the manager.
Consequently, Todibo was omitted from the matchday squad against Leeds.
