Arsenal's Premier League trophy lift plans confirmed as Gunners celebrate historic triumph

Arsenal have also made a decision on their kit for the special moment at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal are set to be delayed for 30 minutes when they prepare to lift the Premier League trophy on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners were crowned champions of English football for the 14th time on Tuesday night when Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth away at the Vitality Stadium.

Arsenal players celebrated wildly at their London Colney training facility, having become champions with a game to spare.

Mikel Arteta's men, who also have the Champions League final to contest, will finally lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in 22 years at Selhurst Park after their final day clash with Crystal Palace.

Though they won the league away from home, Arsenal's last two Premier League trophy lifts took place at Highbury.

With home team Palace playing in their traditional red and blue, Arsenal are forced to wear their white third strip to avoid a kit clash.

However, as expected, the squad will change back into their red home kit for the trophy lift. And it turns out they will not have to rush to get changed as they will head back to their dressing room for celebrations while Palace have a special send-off for departing manager Oliver Glasner.

Glasner, who led Palace to their first ever major trophy and could yet deliver a European trophy with Wednesday's Conference League final against Raya Vallecano.

He will have his farewell, before Arsenal players and staff emerge from the away dressing room for their Premier League trophy presentation to take place.

The trophy lift will still have a traditional feel to it, unlike the celebrations involving Paris Saint-Germain, who were presented the Ligue One prize before the warm-up of their final game away at Paris FC.

With only the travelling fans in attendance, Arsenal have confirmed a historic parade around Islington on Sunday 31 May - a day after the Champions League final against PSG.

The celebrations will go ahead regardless of whether Arsenal add the long-awaited European crown to become double winners.

Two Arsenal stars not guaranteed Premier League winners' medal

In order to be entitled to a Premier League winners' medal, players must have made a minimum of five appearances - a number that was previously 10 before the rule was changed.

Academy prospects Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri have made the cut - despite the latter spending the second half of the campaign at Marseille.

However, back-up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga does not qualify for a medal as he did not make a single appearance in the Premier League.

David Raya has played every minute in the title triumph and even if his compatriot Kepa features against Palace in the final game, he will still be four short of the criteria.

Third-choice goalkeeper Tommy Setford is also set to miss out on being handed a medal on Sunday, with the 20-year-old's only outing being a substitute cameo against Wigan Athletic.

Because Arsenal will receive 40 medals to hand out, the pair of goalkeepers could still be rewarded for their contributions with medals.

Additional medals must be requested and approved by the Premier League, typically requiring exceptional circumstances.
