Jamie Carragher slammed Martin Odegaard for the way he celebrated Arsenal's win against Liverpool.

Arsenal blew the Premier League title race wide open with a 3-1 win against Liverpool on Sunday evening, a result that moved them within two points of the table toppers.

The Gunners were by far the better side at the Emirates Stadium, and took a deserved lead 14 minutes in when Bukayo Saka pounced on a loose ball after Alisson saved well from Kai Havertz.

A defensive mix up between David Raya and William Saliba gifted Liverpool an equaliser just before half-time, but a mistake from Virgil van Dijk and a missed kick from Alisson allowed Gabriel Martinelli to retake the lead with 25 minutes left to play.

Leandro Trossard secured the win with a late strike to spark jubilant celebrations in the stands and on the pitch.

After the full-time whistle, the Sky Sports cameras followed Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard as he grabbed a camera from the club photographer and took pictures of him and the Emirates crowd.

Jamie Carragher, stewing over his former side's defeat, was less than impressed.

"Deary me," the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports Super Sunday when reflecting on the celebrations.

"Just get down the tunnel, you've won a game, it's three points. You've been brilliant, they're back in the title race, get down the tunnel. I'm serious, honestly."

It's not the first time that Arsenal have been criticised for the way they celebrate victories.

Last season - when Arsenal ran Manchester City close in the Premier League title race before ultimately falling short - manager Mikel Arteta came under fire for his enthusiastic goal celebrations on the touchline, and was blamed for making his team 'too emotional'.

Carragher was understandably speaking in the heat of the moment, but it seemed a little harsh to criticise Arsenal for celebrating what was a hugely significant victory.

Defeat would have left the Gunners eight points behind league leaders Liverpool and their title challenge in tatters, but instead they are now just two points off the summit.
