They might have found their perfect signing.

Arsenal might have just found their perfect January signing.

The Gunners are in the market for an inverted left-back, having shipped four goals in their last two games and seen their title hopes dwindle.

Current first-choice Oleksandr Zinchenko has struggled defensively in recent weeks, while understudy Takehiro Tomiyasu has been unavailable due to injury, and has since jetted off for the Asia Cup with Japan.

With Kieran Tierney on loan at Real Sociedad and Jurrien Timber out for much of the season, Mikel Arteta’s recruitment team will likely be scouring the market for a left-back.

One potential option could be Bayern Munich’s Raphaël Guerreiro, who can play as an inverted left-back and appears to be surplus to requirements in Bavaria.

Should the Gunners make a move for the Portugal international, however, they would allegedly have to compete with the riches of the Saudi Pro League.

According to French publication L’Equipe, Saudi side Al Hilal have made contact with Guerreiro, as part of an attempt to sign a left-back this month.

The club have allegedly enquired about a loan deal with an option to buy.

For the first time since a move from Manchester City 18 months ago, Zinchenko has faced mounting pressure from fans, who want the Ukrainian out of the starting XI after a series of disappointing performances.

That being said, however, Zinchenko has received the backing of Arsenal legend David Seaman.

"Kieran Tierney gives you more in defence, Oleksandr Zinchenko gives you more in attack when he drops into midfield," the former England goalkeeper told his podcast, Seaman Says. "I know there’s been a lot of attention on him but it is about defending as a team. I hate singling players out."
