Data Analysts Compute Champions League and Europa League Favourites

English clubs are enjoying a good season in Europe, with Manchester United and Arsenal in the Europa League semi-finals, and Manchester City and Chelsea still in the Champions League.

However, how likely are they to win these competitions, with some stern opposition coming from the continent.

In the Champions League, Real Madrid comfortably saw off reigning Premier League champions Liverpool in the quarter-finals, while PSG have defeated Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the last two rounds.

Meanwhile, in the Europa League you have an AS Roma side with ex-Prem players such as Edin Dzeko, Pedro, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and a Villarreal side with Gerard Moreno - who has 19 goals and five assists in La Liga this season.

According to them, Manchester City are strong favourites for the Champions League, with local rivals Manchester United also enjoying favourite status in the lesser competition.

AS Roma and PSG will be hoping for some upsets, with both set to struggle according to the data.

While an ageing Roma side may have already known the odds were against them, the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at PSG may be slightly surprised to be rated behind Chelsea - although it is partly because they will be playing favourites Man City in the semi-finals.
