A new race is set to be added to the Formula One calendar next season, with reports claiming an official announcement is imminent.
The 2026 season began with a total of 21 different races across the globe but both the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix had to be cancelled as a result of the conflict in the Middle East.
However, it's emerged that 2027 season will see a new addition as a race returns for the first time since 2021.
According to reports from Motorsport Turkey, the Turkish Grand Prix will make a comeback for next year's campaign as part of a multi-year agreement.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, is poised to make the official announcement after rumours swirled.
The race at Istanbul Park was a regular fixture between 2005 and 2011 but was not held between 2012 and 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic changed things considerably as it returned in 2020 and 2021, with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas winning the respective races.
The very first winner was Kimi Raikkonen, who pipped both Fernando Alonso and Juan Pablo Montoya to pick up the maiden victory.
Felipe Massa was the king of the circuit, winning the race three times in a row between 2006 and 2008.
As per Turkiye Today, Erdogan is set to be present at the Formula 1 Turkiye Grand Prix Launch Program at the Presidential Dolmabahce Working Office, where the announcement will be made public.
The venue is to be heavily renovated and upgraded with a view to hosting major events again and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is also poised to be in attendance.
The news is part of the country's effort to "reassert its position on the global sports stage". There is talk of a five-year deal which could see the race take place in September, running back-to-back with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.
