England's Lionesses will receive a record bonus package if they retain their European Championship title, although the sum pales in comparison to how much Gareth Southgate's squad would have collected had they won last summer's Euros.
Sarina Wiegman's side will be hoping to lift another European Championship this summer, three years after Chloe Kelly scored an extra-time winner against Germany to secure their first women's major trophy.
It is set to be a difficult start to the tournament for the Lionesses. They will face World Cup quarter-finalists France in their opening game of Group D, before two more tough games against the Netherlands and Wales.

Still, England will be one of the favourites to win in Switzerland alongside the likes of Spain, Germany and Sweden.
How much are England expected to take home if they secure a second consecutive European crown?
The FA has agreed a record bonus package with England’s Lionesses worth up to £1.7 million, according to The Guardian, which is more than double the amount they received for reaching the World Cup final in 2023.
The report goes on to state that the amount paid to each player will depend on appearances and minutes played. In total, the average bonus on offer if England defend their title is around £73,000 – a sum that has 'satisfied' all parties.

As well as the squad, it is said the FA will benefit from an England win in Switzerland, with UEFA more than doubling the prize money on offer. The winners of Euro 2025 will take home a reported £4.3 million.
When it comes to match fees, the FA announced that it pays its women's players "exactly the same" as their male counterparts for representing England, with all senior players receiving around £2,000 per game.
That being said, bonus payments differ widely as a result of the levels of prize money on offer.
For example, Gareth Southgate’s squad would have shared a bonus package of about £14 million had they won last summer’s Euros final against Spain, according to The Guardian.
