Fans in disbelief as Man United's Casemiro looks completely lost against Liverpool

Casemiro did not look like his usual self in Manchester United's trip to play Liverpool.

Casemiro might just be having his first bad game in a Manchester United shirt, with fans in disbelief over how poor he was against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Brazilian has had a transformative effect on United since joining from Real Madrid for an initial £60 million in the summer.

Sitting in midfield, five-time Champions League winner Casemiro has provided solidity, a winning mentality and brought the best out of his teammates.

But while he's been hailed as the signing of the season, Casemiro was not at the races whatsoever in the first half against Liverpool.

The early exchanges were frenetic and played at such a fast pace and the 30-year-old looked lost and struggled to replicate his usual standards.

He did look to be in some discomfort only to continue playing but he gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasions in key areas.

And his below-par display drew a lot of reaction from surprised fans on social media.

One commented: "Why has Casemiro decided to drop an absolute Kleberson performance on today of all days!"

A second concurred: "Casemiro is struggling, looks like an injury but he’s not playing well at all."

Another tweeted: "Casemiro's misplaced every pass."

A fourth shared a similar view about the former Porto man's wastefulness, saying: "Hey Casemiro can you make an accurate pass for me?"

A fifth opined: "Casemiro kinda stinking so far. He needs to fix up. Maybe it’s that injury."

Casemiro, who still hasn't fully convinced Graeme Souness it seems, did have the ball in the net for United but for the second time in a week, he had a header chalked off for a clear offside.

But then not long after, Cody Gakpo, the man who was heavily linked to United, put Liverpool ahead with a lovely individual goal after a sublime pass in behind from Andy Robertson.
