Bukayo Saka the only Arsenal player who would be in 'Invincible' team according to member of that team

Saka has been on incredible form this season and now one of the Invincibles has claimed the forward would get into the 2003/04 team.

Bukayo Saka has been named as the only member of Arsenal's current team who could get into their 'Invincibles' side, by a member of that 2003/04 side.

When Arsenal won the league without losing a single game during the entire Premier League campaign, no one would have expected them to wait too much longer to add to their title count.

The Gunners made it to 49 games altogether without losing, before eventually succumbing to then fierce rivals Manchester United, in a game dubbled 'Battle of the Buffet,' with Mike Riley's 'scandalous' referee performance still a bone of contention.

After that, the north London side have never won the title again, only coming twice in the near 20 years since, and more recently not even getting into the top four.

However, this season it looks like Mikel Arteta's side could finally end that drought, still leading the title race from Manchester City at the halfway stage.

Their win over United at the weekend, thanks to Eddie Nketiah's late goal at the end of a match that was like the old days between the league's former best two sides, was a huge step towards the title.

Saka was named Player of the Match at the end of the game, and gave Luke Shaw the runaround all game, and Ray Parlour, who started 16 times in the league in 2003/04, has named the forward as the only player in today's squad who would make it into the famous team.

"If I had to pick one, I've got to go to Saka probably," he told NetBet Sports Betting.

"I mean, Saka probably on the right hand side of midfield. Again, Freddie was such a big player for Arsenal, Freddie Ljungberg, but you know, Saka's a different class and his levels at his age.

"You know, he's only 20/21 years old - amazing. He's got everything about it, he's always got a smile on his face as well which I love.

"He loves playing football and he's always out there, can't wait to get on that pitch and play and he comes across as a really good guy as well.

"So I'll probably, I could argue probably, Saka. Other than that, who else? You know Saliba, Gabriel have had very good seasons, but yeah, Kolo Toure and Sol Campbell, brilliant. Fullbacks, Laurent was a brilliant player. Ashley Cole.

"Yeah, I'll probably go Saka."

On Sunday, Saka actually joined Ljungberg, and fellow Invincible Thierry Henry, as the only Arsenal players to have scored in three games in-a-row against United.

His form is so good right now that AFTV presenter Robbie Lyle genuinely tried to claim he should be in the Team of the Year ahead of Lionel Messi, no joke.

"Saka, because Messi’s not a right winger. Messi’s not a right winger, really and truly," Robbie said.

"How I was trying to do it was positionally, right? So, I’ve never seen Messi… have you ever seen Messi playing on the right wing? […] He plays more sort of… as a matter of fact, he plays more as a midfielder."

That's two quite incredible compliments for the 21-year-old.
