Bruno Fernandes Pulls Off Outrageous Assist For Cristiano Ronaldo Goal, They Share A Telepathic Connection

"That Bruno [Fernandes] assist is absolutely outrageous," one fan said. The Man United star's assist for Cristiano Ronaldo was "insane."

Bruno Fernandes produced a magnificent outside-of-the-right foot assist as Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring against Young Boys.

The Red Devils travelled to the Wankdorf on Tuesday for their opening Group F clash in the Champions League.

And Ronaldo, who scored a brace on his second United debut against Newcastle on Saturday, fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men into the lead in the first half.

Fernandes played a superb ball over the top with the outside of his right foot, with an onrushing Ronaldo arriving at the back post to squeeze the ball through David von Ballmoos’ legs.

The Young Boys shot-stopper managed to touch the ball, but the ball spun on its way over the line.

United fans flocked to Twitter to mock claims that Portugal teammates Fernandes and Ronaldo ‘couldn’t play together’ at Old Trafford.

“That Bruno assist is absolutely outrageous. Insane pass,” one Twitter user posted.

Someone else wrote: “Do you understand how ridiculously insane this pass is from Bruno Fernandes to find Cristiano Ronaldo?”

And a third added: “How did Bruno pull off this pass to set up Ronaldo? He's actually insane.”

A fourth fan tweeted: “It takes a world-class player to give that Bruno pass to Ronaldo.”

According to OptaJoe, Ronaldo’s opener against Young Boys was the 36th different team that he has scored against in the Champions League.

The only other player to have scored against as many teams in UEFA’s top-tier club competition is Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi.

The Red Devils were dealt a major blow in the first half as Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off after he missed the ball and caught the ankle of Christopher Martins Pereira.

The 23-year-old right-back’s dismissal forced Solskjaer into subbing off Jadon Sancho after 36 minutes for Diogo Dalot.

United lead Young Boys 1-0 going into half-time at the Wankdorf in Switzerland.
