Jude Bellingham fumed at Chelsea's controversial retaken penalty as he referenced Kai Havertz's technique following Borussia Dortmund's Champions League elimination.

Dortmund had a one-goal advantage heading into the second-leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

But they failed to hold onto their lead as Chelsea ran out two-nil winners to win the last-16 tie 2-1 on aggregate to book their spot in the next round of the competition.

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring just before the break, with Havertz converting from the spot to make it 2-0 on the night.

The German's goal came in controversial fashion as his penalty was retaken due to encroachment. He successfully put the second attempt away after missing his initial effort.

The decision to retake the penalty angered Bellingham, who branded the situation a 'joke' and pointed out Havertz's 'slow run-up'.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, he said: "I've not seen the incident back. From where I was, it looked pretty close. I can't see where he can go with the hands. It's a yard or two away..."

The England international added: "The fact they've had a replay, it's a joke. When you have such a slow run-up, people will encroach. That's the game I suppose and he's made a decision."

The 19-year-old has been in sensational form this season, but he failed to deliver on his return to English soil.

But he was talked by Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher before kick-off.

The Arsenal legend hailed the star midfielder as a 'complete' player, with the former Liverpool defender hoping his old side can lure him to Anfield in the summer.

"He's all-round, he's complete, he likes to show some movement, skills going forward," Henry said of Bellingham on CBS Sports.

"What I like about him is the way he always wants the ball, he never hides whether he has to defend or to attack, he's always on the ball looking to see if he can feed his strikers.

"This is what I like about him, he's willing to try and get the ball back - it's not only about skills in football. He's going to get that ball, see if he can play, he's going to go around and pass it, be available and pass it to his mate again. He can do whatever he wants at this particular moment and we all know this is why a lot of people want him because he has that in his locker.

"Taking the ball, going the other side, dummying the player and finishing with the outside of his foot, what a player. A lot of teams want him. We all have an idea of where he might end up, Jamie, right?"

Carragher responded: "Hopefully, fingers crossed," before comparing him to Steven Gerrard.

"Yeah he does, I have to say," Henry replied when asked if there are similarities between Gerrard and Bellingham.

Will he move to Liverpool at the end of the season? Watch this space.
