Arsenal are “willing to pay” the relevant fee to sign Shakhtar Donetsk wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Gunners are flying high at the top of the Premier League table, two points clear of last season’s champions Manchester City.

However, if Mikel Arteta's side are to sustain their electric league form beyond the World Cup and mount a serious title challenge, they will likely need January reinforcements.

One player who has been linked to the Gunners is Mudryk, a Shakhtar winger whose Champions League performances have made ripples across Europe.

“Arsenal willing to pay”

Mudryk has scored eight goals in all competitions this season, including three in the Champions League, while the 21-year-old has provided seven assists for his teammates.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Gunners had ‘positive’ contact over the summer and that they are "still following" him now.

The Ukrainian side are now allegedly demanding between €60 million (£52 million) and €65 million (£56 million) for the winger.

And Jones is claiming that the figure reported for Mudryk is “reasonable” that one the Gunners would be happy to pay.

Speaking to GiveMeSport Jones said: “I think they would, yeah. And I think they know that they’ve got to.

“So, we think €65 million (£56m) is traditionally a lot of money in football, but it’s actually becoming a reasonable figure in the transfer market for the players with a high ceiling.

“And I think that that is an amount that Arsenal will be willing to pay.”

Mudryk dreams of the Premier League

Mudryk has previously admitted he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

In an interview with the Times when asked if he will one day play in England the Ukrainian wonder kid said: “Yes, yes, it is possible.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and everyone wants to play in this league.”

“I’m only at a maximum of 20 percent of my potential.”
