Aaron Ramsdale's move to Arsenal looks set to have ended, with the Premier League club unable to agree a fee with Sheffield United for the goalkeeper.
Arsenal have had a busy summer of transfer so far, signing Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White, with the former Brighton man already proving his worth, as Mikel Arteta hopes to improve his side's fortunes from last season.

The Gunners were hoping to add a back up goalkeeper to Bernd Leno, with Mat Ryan having moved to Real Sociedad this summer, and a homegrown keeper seemed to be the priority.
West Bromwich Albion number one Sam Johnstone was one of the targets earlier in the transfer window but Ramsdale looked to be top of the list as Arteta's side made a bid.
Sheffield United wanted around £30 million for the 23-year-old, despite getting relegated from England's to tier back in May, but the north London club only offered £20 million up front, with add ons.
The two sides have been unable to agree a fee for the keeper and, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have now pulled out of the deal to sign Ramsdale.
Reports claim that the keeper, whose performances impressed enough last season to earn him a place in England's squad for the Euros, is 'gutted' that the move fell apart.

He only signed for the Blades last summer, having suffered relegation with Bournemouth the previous year and managing to impress in that team as well.
Chris Wilder signed him to replace Dean Henderson, who went back to parent club Manchester United and then competed with David de Gea for the number one spot.
Arsenal are now set to look elsewhere to sign cover for Leno, and their Premier League campaign kicks off in just over 24 hours, as they travel to newly promoted Brentford in the first game of the season.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, it won't be West Brom's Johnstone who the Gunners return to, though it remains to be seen who their next target is.
Arteta also reportedly wants to bring in Leicester City forward James Maddison into the team and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been strongly linked as well.
The team only managed to score 55 goals in the league in their previous campaign, with only Everton below them in the top 10, and they have to improve on that area to get back into the European places.
Who they'll have to stop the goals at the other end if Leno gets injured remains to be seen.
