Formula One fans are not happy with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri after spotting what happened with Nico Hulkenberg at the British Grand Prix.

After a thrilling and chaotic race at the iconic Silverstone track, McLaren driver Norris claimed his first win at his home race at the British Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.

The Brit finished ahead of teammate Piastri after the Australian driver was handed a controversial 10 second penalty late in the race, causing him to lose the lead which he had battled Max Verstappen for.

However, undoubtedly the biggest story of the race was that Kick Sauber driver Hulkenberg finally ended his long-running record as the F1 driver with most races without a podium finish, coming third at Silverstone.

But as fans across the world celebrated the German claiming an unlikely podium on Sunday, some have taken to social media to call out the McLaren drivers for what they did after the race.

Despite starting the race all the way back in 19th, Hulkenberg ended his wait for a podium after 239 races and 5593 days, putting Sauber in the top three for the first time since 2012.

As tradition, when he got up on the podium after the race Hulkenberg, alongside Norris and Piastri, was handed a bottle of champagne to spray in celebration.

But, instead of celebrating Hulkenberg's histroric achievement, the McLaren pair decided to spray each other after the race, and fans are not happy about it.

Reacting to a clip of the celebrations, one F1 fan wrote on X: "They didn’t spray Nico. Oscar looked at lando then looked at his team and sprayed them first instead. Lando just won his home gp? Vibes just felt off?"

While another angry fan added: "Max and Russell put their fight aside to celebrate Kimi's first podium, Mercedes and Aston Martin sent champagne to sauber to celebrate, but those two losers on the podium couldn't do that for a driver's first podium after 239 races?"

One took to McLaren's post of the clip to reply: Not celebrating with Nico is beyond disappointing. He deserved better and more respect

And another replied: "It's pathetic that you guys didn't involve Nico Hulkenberg in your celebrations. It's pathetic."

Thankfully, clips later emerged on social media showing that Norris did briefly spray Hulkenberg at the end of the celebrations, but at that stage he had mostly run out of champagne.

The Brit also saved Hulkenberg from breaking a major cooldown room protocol as he brought the German his helmet after the race.

Regardless, Hulkenberg didn't stay dry on Sunday as his team Kick Sauber immediately drenching him in champagne as he returned to the garage to celebrate with them after the podium presentation.

And it is clear that his achievement hasn't gone unnoticed amongst his fellow drivers, as he revealed that Verstappen immediately approached him after the race to congratulate him on the impressive drive.
